What do we believe about things to come?

What do we believe about things to come?

We believe that Jesus Christ is going to return to earth.

He will return in a way that is visible to all, personal in nature and will take place in order for him to establish his kingdom on earth. This kingdom will last 1000 years and will be a time of perfect government in which all peoples of the earth will be at peace with each other as well as the animal kingdom.

We believe that today we have the hope of his return. This hope  is essential for the believer to live a life worthy of the cause of Christ in his personal life, in his work for the kingdom  and in reaching lost people with the message of the gospel of Christ. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).

We believe that there will be a bodily resurrection of both saved and unsaved dead.

This means both those who have known and followed Christ and those who have not known and rejected Christ. The Resurrection of the followers of Christ will happen before he returns to establish his 1000 year kingdom on earth. (Revelation 20:1-6).While the resurrection of the latter will take place at the end of the reign.

We believe that there is an eternal state that awaits both the saved and the unsaved.

At the end of the 1000 year reign the followers of Christ will enter into a new earth  and will live eternally in this state (1 Corinthians 15:24-28 ; Acts 1:3, 9; Hebrews 7:25-26). The people who do not know Christ will not experience this.  At the end of the 1000 year reign  those who rejected Jesus Christ as their savior will be  judged and will  experience Gods eternal wrath in hell (Revelation 20:11-15).
